CENTRE – Ella Garmany rang for 19 points, including an 8-of-10 performance from the free-throw line, to lead the Cherokee County Lady Warriors to a 54-47 girls basketball win over visiting Alexandria on Thursday.
Vivian Connell contributed nine points for the Lady Warriors (6-2). Audrey Haygood added eight points and Deannia Starr finished with five points.
Jordyn Walker led the Lady Cubs with 20 points. Sumira Duncan delivered two 3-pointers and had eight points. Charlee Parris finished with six points.
Cherokee County led at each of the quarter breaks. The Lady Warriors held a 12-4 advantage at the end of the first quarter and maintained a 28-17 edge at halftime. Cherokee County led 43-27 at the end of three quarters.
The Lady Warriors battle Handley at noon Saturday in the Cherokee County Invitational at Cedar Bluff.
