During the regular session of the Cherokee County Board of Education on Wednesday, October 5, the Board adopted a resolution naming the football field at Gaylesville School as Roy Knapp Sr Field in honor of the late Coach Knapp. His son, Roy Knapp Jr and his wife, were present to accept a copy of the resolution honoring his dad. A copy of that resolution is attached which outlines Coach Knapp’s accomplishments and honors.
Other actions taken during the meeting: approved an agreement with Pitney Bowes for the Career and Tech Center, approved a contract with Glenwood, Inc., and declared a china cabinet at Sand Rock School as surplus property, and approved professional development.
