Collinsville clobbers Gaston, 48-12

GADSDEN – The Collinsville offensive duo of Keaton DeBoard and Mason McAteer was at it again on Friday night at Gaston in a 48-12 football victory on the Bulldogs’ homecoming.

DeBoard caught six passes for 182 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 90 yards on seven carries with another touchdown.

McAteer completed 8-of-17 pass attempts for 203 yards and three scores to DeBoard. He also ran in for a score for the Panthers (4-1).

The duo got Collinsville on the scoreboard early with a 65-yard touchdown pass. McAteer later added a 4-yard touchdown run to put the Panthers in front 13-0 after a quarter.

Gaston (1-4) opened the second quarter with a Joel Hester-to-Keller Staggs 4-yard touchdown pass to make it a 13-6 contest, but DeBoard delivered another Panther score on a 23-yard touchdown pass from McAteer. The touchdown gave Collinsville a 20-6 halftime lead.

DeBoard added touchdown runs of 51 and 38 yards in the third quarter to extend Collinsville’s lead to 34-6. Hunter James had two touchdown runs of 54 and 10 yards in the fourth quarter. In between those runs, the Bulldogs scored on a Kobe Harris 13-yard run.

Collinsville travels to Fyffe next Friday while Gaston hosts Holly Pond.
