A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 5:40 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, has claimed the life of a Sylacauga man.
Joey S. Wooten, 51, was seriously injured when the 1995 Suzuki Savage motorcycle he was operating struck a deer.
Wooten was transported to Dekalb Regional Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
The crash occurred on Dekalb County Road 81, approximately three miles south of Fort Payne.
