Alabama saw, and felt some record-breaking temperatures Wednesday – with Mobile Montgomery, Tuscaloosa and Muscle Shoals all reporting record highs for June 22nd.
According to the National Weather Service:
* Montgomery reached 102 degrees, breaking the record of 101 set in 1899, 1930 and 2006 / Muscle Shoals also hit 102 degrees and also tied its record set in 1933 / Mobile hit 101 degrees, breaking the record of 100 set in 1881 and 2009/ Tuscaloosa also reached 101 degrees, tying the record that was last reached in 1964.
Other high temperatures for Wednesday included:
* Birmingham: 98 degrees
* Dothan: 100 degrees
* Troy: 100 degrees

* Birmingham: 106 degrees in 1931
* Gadsden: 106 degrees in 2012
* Huntsville: 108 degrees in 1931
* Muscle Shoals: 108 degrees in 1914
* Troy: 108 degrees in 1914
More records could be broken TODAY and TOMORROW – as highs are again expected to climb into the mid-to-upper 90,s – to even the triple digits in some areas.
