Spring Garden exacts revenge on Pisgah to advance to East Central Softball Regional title game

ALBERTVILLE – Pisgah has been a thorn in Spring Garden’s side in multiple sports since the Lady Panthers’ move to Class 2A. On Thursday, Spring Garden exacted some revenge.

Kayley Kirk collected three hits, including a triple, with a walk, three runs and a RBI to lead the Lady Panthers to an 11-3 East Central Softball Regional win to clinch a berth in the regional championship game.

Neely Welsh added a pair of hits, including a double, with a run and two RBIs. Maggie Jarrett also contributed two hits, including a double, with a walk, a run and two RBIs. Bri Boles was 2-for-3 with a walk, a run and a RBI.

Avery Steward contributed two hits, a walk and two runs. Helena Ingram added two hits and a RBI. Layla Ingram tripled, scored a run and drove in another. Abbey Steward finished with a hit.

Abbey Steward also picked up the win. She surrendered just one earned run on nine hits with two walks and seven strikeouts.

Spring Garden battles Ider at 9 a.m. Friday with a berth to the state tournament in Oxford on the line.
