Cherokee County School Board Recognizes Several Retirees On Wednesday

During their regular meeting on Wednesday afternoon , the Cherokee County Board of Education recognized a number of retirees and presented them with a token of appreciation for their years of service to the local school system.

Those honored during the meeting included;

Carrie Rogers 22 Elementary Teacher SG
Rodney Slayton 22 Bus Driver CM
Andreanna Davis 23 School Counselor CB
Lynn Morrison 25 Spec Ed Parapro CE
Dawn Bowling 26 Elementary Teacher G
Michelle Bullard 26 Pre-K Teacher CE
James McKissick 26.5 Asst Maintenance Supervisor CO
Kathy Givens 28 Elementary Teacher G

In other business during the meeting, the board approved the Strategic Plan for 2022-2027 as presented by Superintendent of Education Mike Welsh. Also approved was a contract with Coosa Valley Behavior Services in addition to the 2022-2023 Energy Savings Budgets.
