Cedar Bluff girls hold off Coosa Christian; Tiger boys win big

CEDAR BLUFF – The Cedar Bluff Lady Tigers built an 11-point halftime lead and held on for a 40-35 basketball win over visiting Coosa Christian on Friday.

Za’Niya Kyle led the Lady Tigers with 12 points. Kylie Vadon added 11 points. Caley Bruce came away with six points. Anslee Evans finished with five points.

RaNyiah Dupree led Coosa Christian with 18 points, including five 3-pointers. Erin Snow finished with seven points.

Cedar Bluff held a 15-14 advantage at the end of the first quarter and a 28-17 edge at halftime. The Lady Conquerors cut their deficit to 31-29 at the end of three quarters and tied the game at 33 on Dupree’s final 3-pointer with 3:39 remaining in the game, but could get no closer.

In boys action, Aden Green delivered 14 points to lead the Tigers to a 49-23 victory over Coosa Christian.

Dylan Kinard came away with nine points. Connor Flynt sank a pair of 3-pointers and had eight points. Bucky Leek rang for six points. Kade Browning finished with five points.

JD Justus led the Conquerors with seven points.

Cedar Bluff built a 19-8 first-quarter lead and held a 29-15 edge at halftime. The Tigers led 40-17 after three quarters.
