Taylor Janet Owens, 23 from Cedar Bluff was arrested in Rome, Georgia after a traffic stop at the intersection of Broad Street and 2nd Avenue, led to the discovery of drugs in the vehicle. According to reports, officers discovered a large amount of methamphetamine which was allegedly intended to be trafficked.
Police say they stopped Owens for driving on an expired tag; while speaking with her they noticed an odor of marijuana coming from inside the vehicle and saw marijuana sitting in the passenger’s seat. A subsequent search led the officers to find a number of baggies containing methamphetamine, several baggies of marijuana – and a digital scale.
Owens was arrested and charged with: Possession of methamphetamine, possession of meth with intent to distribute, the possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of a schedule I controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug related objects and operation of an unregistered vehicle.
