A northwest Georgia man was recently arrested and charged with child molestation – that – in the wake of a women reporting to law enforcement, she had previously been the subject of on-going sexual abuse.
According to Trion Police Department Investigator Dexter Blackmon, that victim had lived in the home of the alleged perpetrator, and she told officers the abuse had been taking place since she was 14 years old, The woman, now 18, has since moved out of the house in Trion.
Investigator Blackmon stated that the complainant had gone to the Chattooga County Sheriff’s Office to report the abuse and when investigators determined that the abuse had occurred in the Trion town limits, they contacted the Trion Police Department to take over the investigation.
Blackmon said after speaking with the victim – and the woman talking with the Child Advocacy Center – he applied for, and was granted, a warrant for Trion resident Juan Carlos. Carlos was booked into jail last Saturday – but has since made bail.
