During the June Chamber of Commerce Breakfast, the Chamber recognized Dr. Brian and Cindy Perry for 38 years of service to Cherokee County and surrounding areas.

State Representative, and Centre resident, Ginny Shaver, presented them with a joint resolution from the legislature honoring them for the outstanding contributions, and service to the citizens of the area.

Dr. Perry thanked everyone for all the kind words and he expressed his appreciation for the opportunity to serve the community for all these years; he then associated his retirement with flowers, saying (paraphrasing) “I wanna have some time to smell the roses before I’m pushin’ up daisies” – drawing a huge round of applause and laughter

Dr. Perry received a lengthy standing ovation as everyone wished him the best on his well deserved retirement – with hopes for many, many years filled with roses.
