Cedar Bluff Man Back in Custody; He and Two Others Facing Drug Charges

Three people are currently in the Cherokee County Detention Center, following their arrests on drug-related, and other, charges.

Tiffany Nicole Reyes, 37 of Centre, was charged with Trafficking, and with Trafficking Amphetamines along with the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; Stephanie Deanne Warren, 48 of Centre – charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia; and John Edward Whitmire, 32 of Cedar Bluff, was charged with Trafficking, Attempting to Elude, the Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd Degree and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

All three were booked into jail shortly after 10:00pm Tuesday – with bond for Reyes being set at $150,000; bond for Warren set at $15,000 – and bond for Whitmire set at $77,500.  Whitmire had been sought in connection with a high-speed chase, involving a number of law enforcement agencies, over the weekend.

Weaver Police Chief Wayne Bush told WEIS Radio, that his officers conducted a traffic stop on Alabama Highway 21 for a minor violation when the driver of the vehicle fled at a high rate of speed rather than comply.

The pursuit continued through Jacksonville and into Piedmont, before finally coming to an end when the driver crashed, and rolled the vehicle – near Philadelphia Church Road.  That car – a 1999 Honda Accord – was determined to have been stolen in Floyd County, Georgia on March 19th.

Whitmire was air-lifted from the scene to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for treatment but later left the facility and had been on the run until his arrest
