Marshall County Man Arrested On Numerous Charges Following Brief Foot Pursuit

Deputies were dispatched to a residence on Clearview Lane in Guntersville regarding a welfare check. As the deputy arrived Justin Wayne Childress was observed standing by a car in the yard.

Childress was the subject of the welfare check and when the deputy exited the patrol car he fled on foot. After a short foot chase the deputy was able to bring the subject to the ground. A struggle then ensued and the deputy was forced to deploy his taser to gain control of Childress.

At that time a small amount of methamphetamine was found in the suspects pocket. It was also determined that Childress had an outstanding FTA warrant through Marshall County.

Childress was charged with Failure to Appear on a Breaking and Entering of a Motor Vehicle, Resisting Arrest and Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance. Childress is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $4500.00 bond.
