GLENCOE – The Sand Rock Lady Wildcats went 4-2 in a volleyball tournament at Glencoe on Saturday.
The Lady Wildcats (26-10) defeated Saks 25-12, 25-9, Cleburne County 25-21, 25-22, and Weaver 25-8, 25-14. They then lost to Boaz 25-22, 19-25, 8-15, but rebounded to defeat Cleburne County a second time 25-23, 25-11. Sand Rock fell to Boaz again in the tournament semifinals 20-25, 25-22, 13-15.
For the day, Hannah Davis delivered 48 kills, 48 digs, and four blocks. Maci Brown contributed 32 kills and 13 blocks. Lanie Henderson added 32 kills and seven blocks. Caley Garrett posted 92 digs. Katelyn St. Clair came away with 22 kills.
McKenna Ballenger had 67 assists and four aces. Makenzi Blackwell tallied 44 digs and three aces. Jacey Stephens collected 57 assists, four aces and 10 kills. Cheyanne Fuqua finished with 17 kills.
Sand Rock competes in the Class 2A, Area 12 tournament at Spring Garden on Tuesday. The Lady Wildcats take on Westbrook Christian in the opening round at 5 p.m.
