Centre Police Make Several Felony Arrests Over Course of Past Few Days

The Centre Police Department reported to WEIS Radio News on Tuesday that they’ve made a number of felony arrests over the past several days.  According to Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship, Chief Investigator Randy Mayorga received a report back on July 7th of a theft that occurred at Matthews Automotive.  Mayorga was soon able to obtain enough evidence to execute a search warrant at a location on County Road 561, where the stolen items were recovered. 

Mayorga, along with Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Investigators, were able to speak with 36 year old Audra Marie Croft of Piedmont who provided them with information about the case which subsequently led to the arrest of 45 year old Eric Wayne Bray on charges of 3rd Degree Burglary.  Croft also had warrants for Failure to Appear on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance (two counts) and Theft of Property 2nd Degree (two counts) – along with Theft of Property 3rd Degree.  She was also charged with Burglary in the 3rd Degree.

Centre Police arrested Corey Shane Cagle, age 43 of Cedar Bluff, on the charges of Unlawful Possession of Marijuana, the Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – and a Probation Violation.  Cagle was arrested after Pardon and Probations Officers requested assistance in reference to contraband being found in his vehicle. 

35 year old Hannah Leanne Comer of Guntersville was arrested on charges of Receiving Stolen Property 1st Degree, in connection to a vehicle being reported stolen out of Marshall County.  She was arrested at the Day’s Inn in Centre where the stolen vehicle was located. 

33 year old Merissa Skylar Mobbs was arrested after a report had come in from a local bank regarding someone with a stolen check. The victim – in addition to the owner of the check – discovered the check had been stolen and contacted law enforcement; contraband and drug paraphernalia was also found inside the perpetrator’s vehicle.  Mobbs was charged with the Possession of Controlled Substance, with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, the Possession of a Forged Instrument and Domestic Violence.

Centre Police also arrested Tracey Glen Storey, age 51 on charges of Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, in addition to Failure to Appear for Theft of Property.

Jose Ricardo Saborio, age 50, was arrested on charges of the Unlawful Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
