A six-year-old boy from Etowah County is recovering in the hospital after falling into a swimming pool. According to the Rainbow City Police Department, they got a call that a child fell into pool Thursday.
That child is six-year-old Lucas Hutchins. Lucas’ father Joseph Hutchins is an Etowah County Sheriff’s Office deputy. According to a Facebook post from Joseph, it was Lucas’ older brother that helped save his life by alerting the parents.
The older brother, who is nine-year-old, also assisted by calling for help while Joseph performed life-saving CPR on his son. Rainbow City Police say medics arrived and took Lucas to a nearby hospital.
A family friend started a GoFundMe page for the Hutchins family.
