COVID-19 Illness Broken Down Percentage-Wise Among High-Risk Groups

According to the Alabama Department of Health, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and renal disease are among the most common underlying medical conditions in coronavirus deaths in the state.

54% of confirmed coronavirus deaths in Alabama were people with cardiovascular disease. 53% had diabetes; 25% suffered chronic renal disease – and 45% had multiple underlying medical conditions.

Seventeen deaths have been confirmed among those with no underlying conditions, with 82% of those being older than 65.  The death range for those with no underlying conditions is from 51 to 81 with a median age of 70.
