Gadsden State Set To Host Mental Health Conference

Gadsden State’s Continuing Education Department and Division of Health Sciences is partnering with Gadsden Regional Medical Center and Alabama Area Health Education Centers to sponsor a Mental Health Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. Oct. 18 at Helderman Hall Auditorium on the Wallace Drive Campus. The conference is designed to help communities by providing educational training in the Mental Health Service field to local health professionals. The public will also be invited to attend.

Seminar topics include the prevention of Autism and behavior, mental health treatment and resources for veterans, local initiatives to improve access to mental health services, money and mental health, speaking without words and compassion fatigue. The conference fee is $25 for pre-registration or $35 at the door.  Lunch is provided and CEUs are available for nurses, social workers, nursing home and assisted living administrators and licensed professional counselors.
