One of the men arrested over the weekend on drug charges here in Cherokee County is also wanted in Georgia.
The Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force had issued warrants for 36 year old Benjamin Lee Johnson for drug-related crimes. He was wanted in Georgia for possession of methamphetamine, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a probation violation.
Those warrants had been issued earlier in the month (June 2019) for Johnson – however he had eluded capture in Georgia.
Johnson was arrested in Cherokee County (Alabama) Saturday, for unlawful possession of a controlled substance, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, and attempting to elude law enforcement.
