Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit Finds Over 400 Grams of Meth in Multi-Agency Raid

Last Sunday (June 23rd), around 2:30pm, the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit conducted a search warrant at a residence on County Road 3 near Crossville.  That raid also included the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Drug Task Force, Marshall County Drug Task Force, Federal Bureau of Investigation Safe Streets Task Force, The Boaz Police Department and Guntersville Police Department.  As a result of the search over 400 grams of Methamphetamine was recovered at the location.

Johnny DeWayne Croley, age 42 of Crossville was taken into custody and transported to the DeKalb County Detention Center and is charged with Trafficking in Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

This investigation is on-going and further charges may be pending.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden said of the arrest: “We are very proud of our Narcotics Unit for organizing this raid and their ability to coordinate major arrests such as this with our federal partners.”
