Attalla Man Arrested After Allegedly Scuffling with Cherokee County EMT’s and Slapping Rome Police Officer

An Attalla man has been transferred from the Etowah County Jail to the Floyd County Jail to face charges related to a scuffle with emergency personnel and police officers.

According to the arrest warrant and reports at the jail 19 year old Eric Huff fought with two Cherokee County EMT’s – and slapped a Floyd County Police Officer as he and other officers attempted to assist EMS with loading Huff onto a stretcher.  Huff also allegedly threatened everyone in the hospital room when he arrived at Floyd Medical Center.

Huff was charged with felony obstruction of officers, simple battery against a police officer, two counts of interference with emergency medical personnel, and six counts of terroristic threats and acts.
