Journalist accuses “sexual predator” Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her teenaged son

David Giesbrecht/Netflix(BOSTON) — At a press conference held in Boston on Wednesday, a former TV anchor tearfully accused actor Kevin Spacey of sexually assaulting her son in July of last year, when the alleged victim was 18.

“I’m here not as a journalist today, but as a mom,” former WCVB news anchor Heather Unruh said. Unruh explained the incident took place at a bar on Nantucket Island, and said her “star-struck, straight” son…had no idea that the famous actor was an alleged sexual predator, or that he was about to become his next victim.”

“Kevin Spacey bought him drink, after drink, after drink,” Unruh said, adding, “when my son was drunk, Spacey made his move and sexually assaulted him.”

“Spacey stuck his hands inside my son’s pants and grabbed his genitals,” Unruh alleged, saying her son’s efforts to “shift his body to remove Spacey’s hand were only momentarily successful. The violation continued. My son panicked. He froze…”

Unruh said when Spacey left a moment to use the restroom, “concerned woman quickly came to my shaken son’s side…She told him to run. And he did. He ran as fast as he could all the way to his grandmother’s house.”

Unruh also had words for Spacey: “Shame on you for what you did to my son. And shame on you for using your apology to Anthony Rapp to come out as a gay man. That was an appalling attempt to deflect attention from what you really are: a sexual predator. Your actions are criminal.”

Actor Anthony Rapp’s allegation in an October 29 Buzzfeed article that Spacey made sexual advances on him when Rapp was just 14 led to allegations from others that Spacey had sexually harassed or assaulted them.

Since the headlines broke about that and other accusations against him, Netflix suspended production of the sixth and final season of Spacey’s hit political drama House of Cards, and terminated its relationship with him.
