Two people were injured in a two-vehicle accident taking place on the bypass in Centre just after 1:00pm Wednesday.

According to a Centre Police Department accident report the wreck involved a 2006 Nissan Altima driven by 71 year old Agnes Smith Romine of a Piedmont address, and a 2003 Chevy PT Cruiser being driven by 49 year old Sylvia Lynn Pruitt Gilliam of Centre.

Romine escaped injury – however, Gilliam was taken to Cherokee Medical Center by private vehicle and a passenger in her vehicle was taken to CMC by Cherokee EMS.

That accident remains under investigation by the Centre Police Department.
