Man Charged with Vehicular Homicide

A Summerville, Georgia man has been charged with felony vehicular homicide in connection with an automobile that killed an area pastor.

45 year old Lavonne Humphrey was fatally injured when his vehicle was struck by a pickup driven by 40 year old Brandon Heath Drennan, on Highway 100, between Summerville and Coosa, back on April 13th.

In addition to the vehicular homicide charge, Drennan was charged with DUI, driving on the wrong side of the roadway, violation of the open container law and cited for unsafe vehicle.

Humphrey had pastored at West Summerville Baptist Church from 2006 to 2016 and he had also served as pastor at Calhoun Avenue Baptist Church.
