A four alarm blaze heavily damaged a home on County Road 17 in Sand Rock early Saturday morning. Sand Rock, Leesburg and Tuckers Chapel Fire Departments responded to the scene. Additional units from the Collinsville Fire Department were also called in to assist.
The call came in at around 3:30 a.m. after a child in the home woke up and found the fire in the bedroom. The fire quickly spread to the attic and it took firefighters several hours to bring the blaze under control.
According to Sand Rock Fire Department Assistant Chief Cody Biggs all occupants were able to make it out safely and there were no injuries, the home was deemed a total loss. The exact cause is under investigation.
