Etowah County Authorities Arrest Three On Drug Related Charges

Three individuals have been arrested for drug related charges in Etowah County. 

Randy Moore, 35, of Altoona, Shaquada Dixon, 32, of Boaz, and Christopher Roesner, 39, of Altoona, are charged with trafficking in marijuana and unlawful manufacturing of controlled substance 1st degree.

On Thursday, agents executed a search warrant at a residence on Kilgore Street in Altoona, Alabama. The search warrant was based on surveillance of suspicious packages delivered to the residence and information received from the Altoona Police Department.

During the search, Agents found approximately 13 pounds of high grade marijuana, small amount of LSD, a loaded AK-47 assault rifle and a short barrel shotgun. Also, agents found equipment being used to extract THC from marijuana and the final product.

The final product from this manufacturing method is called Butane Hash Oil (BHO) aka “marijuana candy”. “BHO is a new trend in our area resulting in a higher level of THC content and is popular in states that have legalized marijuana sales” Sims said.

In two rooms of the residence, agents found equipment used for growing marijuana indoors.  The high grade marijuana had been shipped to the address from California. This case is ongoing and additional charges related to the firearms are expected.

All three were arrested and transported to the Etowah County Detention Center were they remain under a $100,000 cash bond on both offenses.

Roesner has a prior conviction of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance from Blount County.

The Altoona Police Department, Etowah County Sheriff’s Department, and the FBI North Alabama Safe Streets Task Force participated in the case.
