Alec Baldwin to Spend Inauguration Day Prepping for Spoofing Trump on “SNL”

NBC/Will Heath(NEW YORK) — Over the weekend, Donald Trump once again tweeted his disapproval of Saturday Night Live, but that won’t stop the long running show from taking on the inauguration. In fact, Alec Baldwin, who plays Trump on SNL, tells ABC Radio he’ll be spending Friday — Inauguration Day — getting ready for this weekend’s show.

“I’m gonna be doing Saturday Night Live the day after the inauguration,” confirms Baldwin, “so while he’s getting inaugurated, we’ll be rehearsing whatever it is, on that Friday the 20th, we’ll be rehearsing whatever it is we do the following evening.”

While the 58-year-old actor will continue to mock the president-elect on SNL, he isn’t spending his days obsessing over Trump’s upcoming presidency.

“It is what it is…And everybody has their life to go on with,” says Baldwin. “I’ve got three kids that I’m pretty devoted to and my wife who I love dearly and the thing I’m gonna do now in the near term is just get back to work and do my job and hopefully entertain people.”

Saturday Night Live returns Saturday on NBC with guest host Aziz Ansari and musical guest Big Sean.
