TIZIANA FABI/AFP/Getty Images(VATICAN CITY) — Pope Francis met Thursday at the Vatican with survivors of areas impacted by earthquakes in central Italy. In an impromptu speech, he offered words of encouragement to victims to “rebuild hearts.”
The region of Italy has been struck by at least four earthquakes or tremors in recent months. Among the most devastated, was the town of Amatrice, where a 6.3 magnitude earthquake hit, killing 300 people in August, according to News.Va — the official news network of the Vatican.
