Patriots WR Michael Floyd Had BAC of .217 At Time of DUI Arrest

(Photo by Scott Clarke / ESPN Images)(NEW YORK) — Wide receiver Michael Floyd, claimed on waivers last week by the New England Patriots, had a blood alcohol content of .217 when he was arrested for DUI earlier this month.

Following his arrest, Floyd was released by the Arizona Cardinals. ESPN reports that Floyd could face a mandatory jail sentence of at least 45 days, required use of an interlock system, and thousands of dollars in fines and monetary contributions if convicted.

Floyd was previously arrested for DUI while a student at Notre Dame. He had a BAC of .19 at the time of his 2011 arrest.

Police have released a video from Floyd’s most recent arrest, which showed the wide receiver asleep in his Cadillac Escalade at about 2:48 a.m. on December 12. An officer can be seen knocking on the window of Floyd’s vehicle, finally waking him.

Floyd initially failed to follow the officer’s instructions to put the car in park and turn it off, but eventually rolled down his window, at which point the officer unlocked the door and removed Floyd from his vehicle.

Patriots head coach Bill Belichick said Wednesday that the team was aware of the video, and that Floyd was practice with the team.
