Dozens Killed After Migrant Boat Capsizes off Egyptian Coast

Wavebreak Media/Thinkstock(NEW YORK) —  A crowded boat of migrants capsized off the coast of Egypt Wednesday, killing at least 42 people were killed, BBC News reports.

The boat capsized about 112 miles north of Cairo in the Mediterranean Sea.

According to BBC, the boat was carrying about 600 passengers and about 150 people have been rescued.

This incident comes after the head of the Eurepean Union’s border agency warned that increasing numbers of Europe-bound migrants are using Egypt as a departure point, according to BBC News.
