Gadsden Man Charged with Two Robberies

Saturday, Etowah County authorities arrested a man wanted in connection with two recent armed robberies.

According to Sheriff Todd Entrekin, 50 year old Kerry James Calhoun of Gadsden, is accused of robbing the Kangaroo Express on Rainbow Drive and another location in Glencoe.

He reportedly fled the scene each time in a white 2003 Chrysler PT Cruiser with specialized plates reading disabled veterans/tag #V79213.

Calhoun has been charged with Robbery 1st Degree and is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash bond.

Authorities have yet to release details regarding the arrest.
