Jimmy Kimmel Helps Roll Out the Red Carpet for the Emmy Awards

ABC – 2016(LOS ANGELES) — Jimmy Kimmel on Wednesday helped roll out the red carpet for the upcoming Emmy Awards outside the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.

It was billed by the Television Academy as the longest red carpet rollout in Emmy history — a fact that Kimmel, who will host this Sunday’s ceremony, joked about.

“I also want to mention that the reason we have the longest red carpet in history is because this will be the longest show in Emmy history,” the ABC late-night host said.

Kimmel also poked fun at one of the year’s most popular shows, the nominated FX series The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.

“Congratulations to O.J. on everything he’s accomplished this year,” he quipped.

You’ll see Kimmel make more cracks about the nominees when ABC airs the Emmy Awards live this Sunday night.

The Television Academy just announced more presenters for the broadcast, including Tom Hiddleston, Bryan Cranston, Claire Danes, Michelle Dockery, Terrence Howard, and Rami Malek.

In addition, Henry Winkler will introduce the In Memoriam segment with a remembrance of Garry Marshall, who created his hit sitcom Happy Days. Tori Kelly will perform during the segment.
