Man Charged with Murder in Connection with Rome Nightclub Shooting Incident

May Murder 1An arrest has now been made in connection with a shooting death occurring in downtown Rome, back on May 24th.   According to arrest warrants at the Floyd County Jail, 24 year old Joseph E. Williams of Lithonia, shot Travious Floyd in the neck, at North 5th Avenue & West 1st Street.

Floyd died as a result of the gunshot.

Williams has been charged with Murder. he has also been charged with Aggravated Assault for firing shots at Orlando Floyd and Courtland Floyd. The shooting occurred following an incident at The Peach nightclub, where someone discharged pepper spray during a concert.

Authorities say additional arrests could be forthcoming.
