Socha 1Former Marshall County Tourism Director Lisa Socha has been sentenced to house arrest – after pleading guilty to first degree theft charges Monday morning.

According to WAFF TV48, Marshall County District Attorney Steve Marshall says Socha was using the bureau’s credit card as if it were her own.

As part of a plea agreement she received a 46 month suspended jail sentence; however, she was ordered to spend nine months under house arrest by electronic monitoring. Socha will also serve four years on supervised probation, will serve 1,200 hours of community service and must re-pay $110,000.

Prosecutors state she was stealing from the Marshall County Convention & Visitors Bureau for a number of years before an audit detected the wrongdoing.
