Gadsden Man Jailed on Assault Charges

Brown35 year old Gadsden resident Michael Scott Brown has been arrested in connection with an assault on two people earlier in the week.

Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Deputies and members of the Hokes Bluff Police Department responded to a report of a possible fight occurring at a home on Croft Ferry Road.

Upon arrival they found a significant amount of blood outside the residence – and observed slit tires on a nearby truck.

Brown was taken into custody at the scene after officers discovered that he was wanted for a warrant in Rainbow City. He then admitted that he’d been in a fight at the residence – and had cut an individual with a utility knife.

In fact, two victims were found down the road from where the incident occurred – with the male subject being air-lifted to a Birmingham area hospital suffering multiple stab wounds, and a female subject being taken by ambulance to a Gadsden area hospital.

The pair had apparently attempted to leave the residence when Brown allegedly began to cut the male subject and when the woman tried to break-up the fight, she was cut as well.

Brown was charged with one count of First Degree Assault and one count of Second Degree Assault – both felonies.

He currently remains in the Etowah County Detention Center with bond set at $9,500.
