CDC Conducting Training Courses in Anniston for Ebola Treatment

CDC 2Northeast Alabama is now the home of a CDC training course for medical workers slated to travel to Africa to work in the Ebola Treatment Unit there.

The Center for Domestic Preparedness at McClellan in nearby Anniston will host the three-day courses every week through at least early next year (2015).

Dr. Michael Jhung created those training sessions to help healthcare workers prepare them –selves for the job, which first and foremost, will include protecting themselves from being infected:

During those training sessions medical workers wear hazardous material suits – tending to mannequins which simulate patients suffering symptoms of Ebola.

Dr. Jhung says thus far the interest and response for training has been overwhelming – and the feedback received during the initial training has been extremely positive.
