It was a close call but no one was hurt when a dump truck belonging to McElroy Construction of Cedar Bluff rolled over on Highway 35 just outside of Gaylesville Wednesday morning at around 11:45.
The driver of the dump truck told WEIS Radio News that he was traveling toward Gaylesville – when another vehicle stopped in the roadway in front of him and since there were cars coming in the opposite direction he had no choice but to try and avoid the vehicle in front of him, which led to him losing control of the dump truck and rolling over.
Fortunately, the driver was unhurt and no other vehicles were actually involved in the accident.
The truck was hauling a load of gravel which spilled by the roadside however none landed in the roadway and there was only a short delay while traffic was down to one lane.
The Gaylesville Fire Department and Cherokee EMS responded to the scene.
