Wanted Fugitive Arrested in Mud Creek

CHEROKEE COUNTY — A man wanted on felony drug charges in Pennsylvania was arrested Sunday near Mud Creek following a traffic stop, according to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver.
Deputy Johnson conducted a traffic stop on County Road 22 for speeding and identified one of the passengers in the vehicle as Benjamin Vadiz. A records check revealed that Vadiz was a fugitive from justice, wanted in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania.

Vadiz is facing charges in Pennsylvania for Failure to Appear – Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Fentanyl) and Failure to Appear – Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was taken into custody without incident and is currently being held in the Cherokee County Detention Center, pending extradition back to Pennsylvania.
