Four northeast Alabama high school educators schooled the competition on preparing BBQ – as they claimed victory in the opening round of the “Holy Smokers” competition which airs on the Destination America Network.
The winning dish? The groups soon-to-be famous Pineapple Squirrel Kabobs of course!
That team is made up of Casey Young, the Assistant Principal at Sand Rock High School here in Cherokee County; Kevin Stewart, Ag Teacher at Boaz High School; Caleb Pinyan, the Assistant Principal at Albertville High School; and Joey Haymon, an Ag Teacher at Sylvania High School
The team is playing for the charity organization Blessings in a Backpack – which places food in the backpacks of needy children to take home from the Boaz City school system.
