Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in downtown Gadsden, shortly after 7:00 Wednesday night.
Those firefighters brought the fire under control in less than ten minutes.
According to Assistant Fire Chief Jim Matlock, a ladder truck and four pumpers responded to the call after an employee at the business smelled smoke.
Fire Chief Stephen Carroll said the problem was found to be a space heater on the second floor – he added that it was fortunate that the call was made early on as things could easily have gotten a lot worse, a lot quicker.
