MRS. BETTY RUTH ABERNATHY age 66 of Leesburg passed away Thursday, March 13 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 1 P.M. Saturday March 15th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Damon Olson officiating. Burial will follow in the Longshore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 A.M. until 1 P.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers include the grandsons.
She is survived by her sons, Terry (Tina) Abernathy of Piedmont and Robby (Tammy) Abernathy of Sand Rock; daughters Beverly (Mike) Hightower of Leesburg and Evelyn (Lamar) Tosh of Leesburg; brothers, Danny Nail of Crossville, David Nail of Sand Rock, Richard Nail of Fort Payne, Jamie Nail of Sand Rock; sisters, Brenda Hasty of Cartersville, GA, Bessie Awtry of Fort Payne, Helen Nail of Ballplay, Rose Helms of Texas; 10 Grandchildren, 9 Great-Grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Troy Abernathy.
Mrs. Abernathy was a native of Cullman County, the daughter of the late Milton and Mary Gautney Nail. She was a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.
