Vernell Wells, age 83 of Centre, passed away Wednesday, January 15th at Cherokee Health & Rehab.

Funeral services will be 11:AM Friday, January 17th at Providence Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Joe Kelley officiating; burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:AM until 11:AM Friday at the church.

Pallbearers include Robert Cook, Scott Long, Greg Long, Charlie Fortenberry, Jody Laney, Stuart Parker, Brian Rogers.

Survivors include son, James Allen (Judy) Wells of Tallahassee; daughter, Martha (Bob Angel) Kay of Centre; brother, W.B. (Dee) Walker of Gulf Port, MS.; grandchildren, Jimmy Kay, Kendra Cook, Tina Wells Shea; 12 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.

She was a native of Arkansas, the daughter of the late Benny & Sylvia Karnes Walker and was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association, Alacare Hospice or the family will accept flowers.
