A Floyd County correctional officer has been arrested on a charge of providing contraband to the inmates.
Floyd County Prison Warden Jeff Chandler, has confirmed that Phillip Cromer of Breman – who had been employed at the prison as an outside detail officer for approximately a year and a half – stands accused of providing tobacco to inmates at the facility.
The investigation into the matter continues. Cromer is also facing a bad check charge.
He was booked into the Floyd County Jail and his bond was set at $4,800.
