Ronny Kisor & Friends

Gadsden State Cherokee will host “Lyrics on the Lawn” Thursday, August 29 in the front parking area of the campus. This is the final performance in the series of free summer concerts being offered to the community and will feature Ronny Kisor and Friends. Concert goers are invited to bring lawn chairs and coolers, but no alcoholic beverages will be allowed. The venue opens at 6:00 p.m. with the concert slated to begin at 6:30 p.m.

Ronny Kisor & Friends, a bunch of old friends who love to play music, consists of Ronny Kisor, Doug Ford, Jimmie Moon, David Ashley, Larry Sanford, and Barton Perry.  While each member has been playing music for more years than they care to admit, they have been together as Ronny Kisor and Friends for over six years. Ronny, Jimmie, and David played together years ago in the bluegrass and country band Dixie Grey. Members Barton and Larry come from a rock background. The group boasts that their diverse backgrounds are what makes their music interesting and have dubbed their sound Americana Grass music. Ronny Kisor & Friends’ set list includes traditional and contemporary songs along with originals.
