According to media outlets in neighboring Chattooga County, Georgia, Sheriff’s Office Deputies there were dispatched to Lookout Mountain on Tuesday afternoon at around 3:00 – at the request of Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver and the Alabama Drug Task Force.

Alabama law enforcement was using a chopper to search for marijuana growing on the mountain in Cherokee County below Cloudland, Georgia.

Chattooga County Sheriff Mark Schrader said a small patch of marijuana was discovered – and a woman was apparently tending to the illegal crop when the helicopter flew over.

Schrader said on Tuesday evening he was unsure if any arrests had been made in connection with the incident.
