A Chattooga County man has died from head wounds received after he was thrown from a horse over the weekend.
Redmond EMS responded to the scene of the accident on Ragland Road near Lyerly on Sunday evening and made the decision to transport Demetrius Lackey by Life Force to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga due to the severe head injuries he suffered when he was thrown from a horse.
According to reports, Lackey struck his head when he was thrown causing the injuries.
Reports indicate that Lackey was taken off life support Monday and passed away at Erlanger Medical Center.
