Mr. Ellis Conner Whorton

MR. ELLIS CONNER WHORTON age 83 of the Friendship community passed away Saturday at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00pm today (Monday, July 22nd) at Perry Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Elrod and Rev. Bill Rorie officiating. Burial will be 11:00am Tuesday at Friendship Cemetery.

The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.

Survivors include his wife Jeanette (Tolbert) Whorton, Centre; a Daughter, Melody Fernandez, Centre; sisters, Vera New, Collinsville and Thelma Dobbs, Centre, brothers, Charlie Whorton, Centre and Thurman Whorton, Centre, 3 grandchildren, Jason Yarbrough, Ringold GA, Jonathan Yarbrough, Athens AL and Todd Yarbrough, Collinsville AL, 3 Great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Rhett Walker, Larry Walker, Michael Peek, Michael Walker, Jim Webster, David Cox, Joe Yarbrough, and Blake Martin.

Mr. Whorton was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Ellis and Maybelle Lumsden Whorton, was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and was a farmer and a textile worker.

The Family requests no flowers or food please.

Donations may be made to the Friendship Cemetery Fund.
