Gadsden Police are investigating a reported case of assault, near the intersection of 12th Street & Forrest Avenue.

On Tuesday (July 9th) a woman told police she’d been walking in that area around 5:00am when what sounded like a black female came up behind her, and said “got you now.”

The complainant said she then heard two gunshots – and, as she was running away – noticed that she’d been shot in the foot.

According to the reports, the woman apparently felt well enough to stop at a convenience store in the 1100 block of Meighan Boulevard and buy a pack of cigarettes before heading home to nurse her injured foot.

Later that evening – when the victim reported to work at an adult dance club in Attalla – her boss insisted that she go to the hospital for treatment.

The investigation into the matter is on-going.
