The suspect wanted in connection with a recent shooting in Floyd County has finally been apprehended.
Arrest reports indicate Rome City Police took 21-year-old Marcquell Williams into custody Friday night.
Williams is believed to have shot 20-year-old Jamaal Echols in the thigh on June 16th at a location on Crane Street in Rome.
The victim reports walking with his sister along the street in East Rome when he felt the shot to his leg come from behind.
According to Floyd County Jail warrants, Echols’ will carry that bullet with him for the rest of his life, as it cannot be removed without the risk of paralyzing him.
Williams, whose last known address was in Calhoun, faces several serious charges including aggravated assault & battery, along with possession of a firearm in the commission of a crime.
