The Etowah County Sheriff’s Office is searching for an inmate kitchen worker who escaped from the Etowah County Detention Center just after 4:00 Friday morning.
Justin Wade Hopkins, age 30 of Collinsville – was last seen running toward Tuscaloosa Avenue.
He is a white male, six feet tall, weighing approximately 220 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes; Hopkins hair is currently shaved; at the time of his escape he was wearing tan jail pants and a t-shirt.
He was being detained on theft and burglary charges.
